Peninsular Lake
New to Due North Outpost Camps for 2007! Our Peninsular Lake Outpost camp is situated on the Attwood River system which is part of the Albany watershed. Peninsular lake offers over 9000 acres of water to explore and walking access to the Attwood river in two separate locations. The outpost is on an island that boasts a sand beach and mixed forest. This camp is both solar and generator powered and features a screened gazebo for experiencing the great outdoors without the bugs. Groups of 6-12 are welcome at this location, with a minimum group size of 6 guests for a booking. Accommodations for eight are found in the main camp with additional sleeping for four in a separate bunkhouse. In 2007 the largest walleye measured 28 inches and the largest northern measured 43 inches! During 2007 we were able to re-paint the main cabin and upgrade the fuel storage filter system.
You will find the walleye and northern pike to be plentiful in this environment just waiting to be caught. Be prepared as it might take you all day to catch some walleye small enough to eat, but what better way to spend your day! There are several northerns in the 40 inch range caught here each year. For those of you interested in a bit more adventure, a short hike along the Attwood river will have you battling some world-class brook trout as a reward. Equipment at this outpost camp includes 6-14 foot Lund boats with 9.9 hp Yamaha motors.
What are you waiting for? Make Peninsular Lake your destination for 2008!
